About Me

My name is Louise Dunkley. I am originally from Dublin and have lived in West Sussex for over a decade. I live in Yapton with my husband and son, and our dog and cats.

I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher and have taught all year groups at primary level.

I have always had a keen interest in working with children and helping them to achieve their full potential. My first degree was in Psychology, followed by a master’s degree in Mental Health. After this, I spent a few years working with adults and children in various capacities, such as, a family support worker for people with learning difficulties, a 1:1 tutor for children with autism, and a residential support worker for adolescents in care. I realised that my passion really lay in education, so I undertook a PGCE in Primary Teaching, achieving QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in 2013. I taught in schools until recently, before taking some time out to spend with my young son.

Learn with Louise is offering tutoring to primary-aged children from a purpose-built garden classroom. It is a lovely, calming space, where I hope to help my students to flourish and become happy, confident learners.
